Project Description
all*makers*(All* Kinds of Makers*) is a joint research project of the University of Salzburg, Happylab Wien, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, and Mz*Baltazar’s Lab (Jan 2023 – Dec 2025)
In this research project we are investigating how a diverse group of people can benefit from making. We want to better understand which people see themselves as makers*. We are identifying characteristics of makers* and presenting them in the form of makers* profiles. We are developing makers*-centred strategies so that as many people as possible can recognise the available infrastructures as relevant opportunities for them. We examine these strategies for their effectiveness for the target group. We investigate the ecological impacts and strategies for more sustainable Making.

Olivia Jaques

Artist Bio
Olivia Jaques is concerned with site-specific, feminist, artistic framing as a potential for action. In this context, she deals with the question of how artistic ways of working, especially those outside the conventional exhibition context, contribute to a critical confrontation of habits and social orders and to what extent these can promote emancipatory ways of acting as well as a critical discourse. As part of her artistic engagement, she devotes herself to the conception of artistic framing as socio-political practice (in the form of workshops, collective artistic work or within the framework of teaching and experimental, performative, discursive, collective formats). She is part of the artist and artistic research duo Performatorium together with Marlies Surtmann, the Mz*Baltazar’s Collective and artasfoundation – the Swiss Foundation for Art in Conflict Regions.
