Haptic Gloves & 3D Environments

Project / Showcase @ Kulturverein zur Schießhalle
Sunday 30 Nov
14:00 ‑ 15:00

Project description

The project is dedicated to exploring haptic technologies, with a particular focus on haptic gloves, wearable devices that transform digital signals into tactile sensations. Thanks to microactuators that generate vibrations, pressure and slight temperature variations, the gloves allow users to “touch” virtual objects, making the digital experience more immersive, accessible and multisensory. Participants will experience first-hand interaction with virtual objects, perceiving their weight, shape and texture; they will recognise textures and materials through tactile patterns; they will try guided exercises designed for learning, rehabilitation or sensory exploration. The experience will offer the opportunity to understand how touch can become a new language for accessing digital content. The workshop aims to raise awareness of the potential of haptics, promote the inclusion of people with different sensory or motor skills, and show how tactile feedback can improve orientation, perception and engagement. The ultimate goal is to build a more human and accessible relationship with immersive technologies.
