Code of Conduct
d*sign week is a festival grounded in collaboration and community process. In such events an open spirit of participation and mutual respect is fundamental for a welcoming and friendly environment. We all come from different backgrounds and bring a broad spectrum of experiences with us. As we gather to share our skills, insights, projects and passions, we want d*sign week to be a space of respectful listening and empathetic exchange.
We share with many other collectives and communities basic principles of respectful communication, such as:
- We all have something to learn, we all have something to teach
- We respect the skills and abilities of others
- We listen.
- We clearly communicate while acknowledging other's feelings.
- We critique inappropriate behaviors, not the person
- We admit when we’re wrong, apologize, and accept responsibility for our actions.
- We are continuously seeking to improve ourselves and our community.
- We keep our community respectful and open.
- We make everyone feel heard.
- We are mindful and kind in our interactions.
- We acknowledge and respect viewpoints, values and priorities that are different from ours.
- We know disagreements can exist; we strive to avoid conflicts.
At the d*sign week festival we invite the participants to join the events with awareness of these community intentions and values. Particularly for the events at Stadtwerkstatt, we share the Stadtwerkstatt Code of Conduct: https://newcontext.stwst.at/en/code_of_conduct
In case of need, at the event locations there are people that can provide support to participants who don’t feel safe or need assistance. They can be reached through the people working at the bar or the info desk. If you feel unsafe, you can ask for "Luisa" at the bar or at the infodesk, or reach someone from the team, who will be recognizable with asterisk "*" stickers or pins.
For any comment or suggestion about community awareness, please contact us via mail: dsignweek@servus.at
