'''Olivia Jaques''' is concerned with site-specific, feminist, artistic framing as a potential for action. In this context, she deals with the question of how artistic ways of working, especially those outside the conventional exhibition context, contribute to a critical confrontation of habits and social orders and to what extent these can promote emancipatory ways of acting as well as a critical discourse. As part of her artistic engagement, she devotes herself to the conception of artistic framing as socio-political practice (in the form of workshops, collective artistic work or within the framework of teaching and experimental, performative, discursive, collective formats). She is part of the artist and artistic research duo Performatorium together with Marlies Surtmann, the Mz*Baltazar’s Collective and artasfoundation – the Swiss Foundation for Art in Conflict Regions.
